Miza Ellen Taylor (Hiller)
On August 31, 1932, the afternoon sky turned dark during a Total Solar Eclipse. At the same time Gertrude and Wilbur Hiller welcomed a baby girl into the world. Her name was Miza Ellen Hiller and the world has been a brighter place for those who knew her. Miza was the sixth of eventually fourteen brothers and sisters. Born in the hamlet of Bradshaw, Lambton County, the Hiller family lived a modest, wholesome life. Mom passed away quietly on January 26th, 2023. She is survived by her children Marilee (Michael) Perlman, Brights Grove, Larry (Sue) Taylor, Courtney BC, daughter-in-law Diane Taylor, Camlachie, Bradley (Vickie) Taylor, Brights Grove, and Grandchildren Ian Taylor, Julie (Brian) Hancock, Christopher (Rebecca) Perlman, Stephen (Kendra) Perlman, Kayleigh (Michael) Taylor-Banovsky, Robert (Amberley) Taylor, Jessica (Samuel) Taylor-Mayer, Kara (Brendan) Douglass, Adelle (Levi) Taylor-Webb, Victoria (Katie) Taylor-Jacobs. Great Grandmother (GiGi) to Joshua & Nathaniel Perlman, Sloane Perlman, Jake & Sam, Ira & Knox , Kale & Finlee Mayer, Parker Taylor-McCallum, Max & Riley Douglass. Sisters, Shirley (Les) Wamboldt & Veda (Kenneth) Swanton. She will greatly missed by a legion of nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her Husband Robert Lee Taylor (2003), son Ronald Paul Taylor (2000), Parents Wilbert Horatio Hiller (1984) & Gertrude Louise (Ward) Hiller (1990). Sisters Irene (Irving) Telfer, Helene (Donald) Barnes, Loraine (Arthur) Shaw, Sadie (Harold) Ashburn, Vivian (Edward) Cooper, Evelyn (Bob) Newstead, Linda (Ken) Boyle & Brothers, Lawrence (Pat) Hiller, Melvin (Karen) Hiller, Carlton “Bud” (Jean) Ward, Arnold Hiller. Mom loved nothing more than spending time with family. To her children and especially her grand & great grand- children, she as an inspiration in so many ways. She was our matriarch. Christmas-On-The-Farm weekends for the kids were full of fun, games & crafts. Mom was always more interested in you and your life than herself. Her second love was gardening. She transformed a field of clay outside of Courtright into an oasis of flowers & trees. Working full time as an accountant, notably at Phippins Furniture & Children’s Aid Society, she opened Miza’s Themes on Front Street, an antiques store meant to share her love of all things beautiful with our community. In her spare time, she was a proud member of the Friendship Club in Courtright, the Horticultural Society of Moore Township & various Euchre, Bridge & Scrabble groups. We especially want to thank Rosewood for their exemplary care, Dr. Madison & Palliative Care Team and specifically Theresa who took amazing care of our mother. Miza left this world more beautiful than when she arrived in it. We will miss you. Love. You’re Family. A Celebration of Miza’s Life will take place at the St. Clair Corporate Center - The Gateway Room, at 265 Front Street, Sarnia, on Saturday February 11th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Funeral arrangements in care of McCormack Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to Noelle’s Gift or St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia would be greatly appreciated.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Miza. She was a cherished Aunt, with whom we shared many interesting conversations from current events, her family to gardening and her wealth of knowledge about antiques. We delighted in our calls and visits. Aunt Miza was still on top of the comings and goings of the children and grandchildren, during our visit a mere week before she passed.
